DVP 130 Spiker – Heavy Metal Macht (2019)
Ever aptly titled, Heavy Metal Macht is indeed pure German metal THUNDER! No thrash, no speed, just simple (and simply stunning) HEAVY METAL brewed in the cauldrons of old, all delivered in SPIKER’s mother tongue, as a nod to the old GDR metal bands who sang in German as well. Classy and cruising whilst emitting a touch of rowdiness that’s intrinsic to the Teutonic rivethead ethos, here on Heavy Metal Macht do this young quartet of old souls charge into the night with gusto and panache, armed to the teeth with anthems of indelible steel. Granted, SPIKER can certainly kick up the pace when they want to, but their thrust isn’t strictly speed metal per se, but rather a hook-intensive sort somewhere between early Living Death and classic Tank, Germany’s Warrant and Strong Arm of the Law-era Saxon. You’ve been warned about their Heavy Metal Macht!

DVP 129 Aggressive Perfector – Havoc at the Midnight Hour (2019)
Following up their 2016 release Satan’s Heavy Metal, Aggressive Perfector’s debut full length, Havoc At The Midnight Hour, finds the English trio in resolutely evil form as they take a major step forward on their path of destruction.
Embracing a wealth of haunted sounds and textures, this sepulchral slab of metal conjures an atmosphere rich in the romantic repugnance of horror’s past masters which it uses the setting for a 37 minute nightmare of nocturnal menace, occult fascination and bloody vengeance.
Summoning the ghosts of Metal past – Tank, Slayer, Venom and Mercyful Fate all playing a part- Havoc… fixates on the nuclear fury of an apocalyptic future, from which it culls new ways to pervert the course of heavy metal in the present.

DVP 128 Aggressive Perfector – Satan’s Heavy Metal (2019)
Manchester’s new power trio Aggressive Perfector unleashed a limited 4-track demo in 2016 but the thrashing speed metal on it was too good to remain unheard by so many. So just before the guys are ready to deliver their debut album (also on DVP), it was decided to enhance the demo with a 5th track and re-release it. Great Thrash/Speed Metal for the maniacs that want their metal rough!

DVP 127 The Night Eternal – The Night Eternal (2019)
Although THE NIGHT ETERNAL’s first public recording, already, these Germans are evincing the mastery of veterans. Across their three original compositions and a reverentially poignant cover of Judas Priest’s “(Take These) Chains,” the quintet concoct a supremely powerful and stirringly moody sort of heavy metal, both traditionally pure-steel in their dynamics yet also brimming with epicness and a sort of forlorn heroism. In fact, early ’80s Judas Priest is an apt reference for The Night Eternal‘s night-prowling style, all gleaming chrome and classy, but bespeaking an ever-present darkness beneath that alluring exterior. Of course, hooks are massive as are the commanding vocals of frontman Ricardo, but it’s the chemistry among the five members of THE NIGHT ETERNAL that puts this beyond most other debut recordings: truly, their fire and fluidity are magick to behold! DVP 126 Bandit – Stand & Deliver (2019)
Finnish one-man-act Bandit is completely new to the scene. Bitchlord, who takes care of all the instruments here, however, has been around with his main black thrash band Terror Cross for a while. Thus, these first 6 tracks don’t seem like a first attempt at all. Bandit is blackened speed metal mania to the bone and has been compared to acts such as Toxic Holocaust, Midnight or even mighty Venom. Get your fix or “Get Nuked”!
